Puzzling Ain’t Easy

The V10 is designed for anyone who steps up to the startline with eyes on a podium. The racer who chooses a V10 is the recipient of every bit of work and puzzling that’s gone into the Santa Cruz Syndicate’s race bikes. The continuous fine-tuning that the V10 has undergone World Cup season after season has guaranteed regular, high-level feedback. The result is perhaps the best suspension performance available outside of a World Cup team truck. 215mm of VPP™ travel is exquisitely refined and the ease of tuning and serviceability of the VPP system makes it a hit in the pits with mechanics and privateers.

The most successful bike in downhill history shows no signs of slowing down.

Frame Sizing

If you're on the cusp between the recommended height range of two sizes, the absolute best thing is to try to ride them both. At a minimum, check the stack/reach measurements on your current bike and compare it to the new model you are looking at to get an idea of a fit you are already comfortable with. If riding the bike is not an option, consider the following.

The V10 27.5" is available in size small.

The V10 MX is available in sizes medium and large.

The V10 29" is available in sizes medium - extra large.

Personal Preference

A larger size frame will be more stable, and will give you more room to move without upsetting the weight-balance of the bike. The larger size will put the front wheel further in front of you, which gives the feeling of security and conversely, it will require more significant body movements when you WANT to shift the weight-bias of the bike. Think hard about your riding style and how active/intuitive you want it to be vs stable and speedy. You'll need to work a bit harder to muscle the larger bike around.

Body Dimension

Not all bodies at a given height are the same. If you have longer legs and a shorter torso than the average person your height, that may push you towards the smaller of the recommended sizes. If you're all torso and arms, most likely you'll want to size up.

FAQ's

Can I convert the bike from 27.5" to 29" or vice versa?

No, we decided to make two different compromise-free frames. They are not convertible.

Can I install a Chris King bottom bracket on my bike?

No, there's a chance that the bike's rear triangle will contact the outer section of the bottom bracket. If this happens, damage to the rear triangle may occur.

Can I fit a chainguide to my bike?

Yes, this bike is equipped with ISCG-05 tabs for easy chainguide mounting. Most chainguides on the market that are made for this standard should work.

I want to try an air shock on my V10 - does that work?

The leverage curve was definitely designed with a coil in mind, but DH-oriented air shocks will feel good as well. The Fox Float X2 does work, as long as the air valve is oriented correctly. It must be oriented at the 10 o'clock position, when viewed from the rear. Unfortunately, the Rockshox Super Deluxe AIR shock does not fit, due to interference with the rebound knob. The Super Deluxe Coil fits no problem.
